FC MANITOBA PRAIRES PREMIER LEAGUE INARGUAL SEASON KICK OFF MAY 15

WINNIPEG, MB — April. 7, 2026 — FC Manitoba will kick off its inaugural season in the Premier Soccer League Canada this spring, with the women’s team taking the field at 5:30 PM and the men’s team at 8:30 PM on May 15. All home matches will be played at the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex.
FC Manitoba is a standards-based developmental soccer club dedicated to providing Manitoba players with a clear pathway to professional and university soccer careers, both domestically and abroad. The club is committed to delivering affordable, high- quality soccer entertainment while showcasing and developing local talent and fostering the continued growth of soccer culture across the province.
Inspired by the success of Canadian stars such as Alphonso Davies, Sam Adekugbe, Desiree Scott, and Julia Grosso, FC Manitoba’s philosophy is rooted in building the game from the ground up—supporting players of all ages and connecting the community to more than just what happens on the field.
“We’re thrilled to see the Premier Soccer League Canada taking root here in Manitoba. This league provides our players with a genuine pathway to grow, compete, and succeed at the highest levels,” said Enrique Garcea, Executive Director of FC Manitoba. “We can’t wait to share the energy and excitement of our first season with our fans.”
Working alongside Garcea is Nano Romero, Director of Soccer Operations. Together, they lead a program built on true fútbol culture—one that celebrates the passion and spirit of the game while continuing to create opportunities for young, aspiring athletes.
A key focus for FC Manitoba this season is the integration of top local talent and current university players into a high-performance environment. The club has prioritized signing athletes from across Manitoba, including those competing at the U SPORTS and collegiate levels, with the goal of supporting their continued development within a structured and competitive summer program.
By strengthening its network of Winnipeg-based university players, FC Manitoba is creating an environment that challenges athletes to perform at their best while providing a platform to stay sharp, connected, and progressing during the off-season. This approach ensures that local players not only remain at a high level of play but also see FC Manitoba as a premier destination to compete, develop, and represent their province.
